With its western-style crown and 2 ¾” bound-edge brim, the Open Road 30X easily transitions from country to city, and looks equally sharp on a woman or a man.
The Open Road 30X features a premier roan sweatband, deluxe satin liner, and a 4 ¼” low cattleman crown outfitted with a grosgrain hat band and a genuine sterling silver branding-iron hat pin with gold overlay and inset stones bearing the initials “JBS”, a nod to our founder, John B. Stetson, whose pioneering legacy lives on in every hat we sell.
Introduced in 1937, the Open Road was originally sold with an open crown, which could then be creased to the customer’s liking. Since 1948, it has been finished with a traditional, hand-pressed cattleman crease, and has been worn by modern pioneers and trailblazers ever since, from artists and outlaws to Presidents, including, most notably, LBJ, who was rarely photographed on his Texas ranch without his Open Road.
